Normal Operating TEmperature?

MY engine runs at a lil over 210, a lot of people have told me that if it runs a lil hot but doesnt exceed the limit of the car its not a big deal and may run better. Just need some more opinions on normal operating temp on my car...thanks

My fans are set to turn on real low so my car rarely goes over 180. It used to run hot all the time (over 210), and it seems that it runs better when cooler.

Re: Normal Operating TEmperature?

If I drive on a summer day with the A/C off it will be at 210, or sitting in traffic it will go above 210 and the cooling fans will come on to cool it off.

If I drive on a summer day with the A/C on it will stay at 180 driving or sitting in traffic because the fans stay on.

wow...another cooling thread lol
stock operating temps. 185-195 for thermostat operating range, 226/235 for the fans to kick on. so if your hitting 235, the car should be ok cuz GM says they dont want it to exceed that point basically.
