non self aligning RR and pushrods on 95 lt1

Hey guys,

I have a set of non self aligning roller rockers (1.6 ratio) and a set of guideplates. I used these on my '94 lt1 w/no problems.

I want to use them on my '95 lt1, but am wondering if I can use the 95 pushrods, or, should I use the 94 rods. I read somewhere that 93/94 rods where hardened, and 95-up were not. Is this true?

What should I do?

Thanks guys.

You should get rid of both sets, and buy a quality set like Comp Hi-Techs ...

Besides, they wont be the right length after you change the ratio from 1.5 to 1.6 ...

I just saw a Impalla at work a couple weeks ago with a broken push rod ... It was bent so bad, it literally fell into two pieces after we sat it on the work bench. This is NOT something you want to fall into your motor ...

I agree, I also have comp .100 longer then stock pushrods (for standard sbc). What length would I need for the 1.6 RR. I used the 94 ones on the 94 for many trouble free miles...

if they're straight i dont see a problem with reusing either. both are fine. one thing though, stockers cannot be used with guideplates as they aren't setup for it. i'd reuse the 94's

also, there's only ONE manufacturer of pushrods in the US. they make every pushrod wether it be solid, welded, or pressed.

Severous, how can you tell him to go ahead and use them then if their straight?

You cant use NSA rockers with out guide plates.

And you even just said that you cant use those push rods with guide plates.

Bottom line, you need to get a pushrod length checker tool and order yourself some one piece pushrods, solid.

get a piece of glass big enough and roll the pushrod across the glass.

If they are hardened then they should have a dot on the side of the push rod. About 2 inches from the end.
