Non-functional SS Hood - Affect Engine Cooling Temps?

I performed a Search and onlt found the big debate over CAI vs ram air. My question is will a open SS hood scoop, not connected to the intake, create a cooling issue for the radiator by pressurizing the engine compartment behind the radiator?

I've got a non functional real SS hood on my SS and while I don't notice any real difference, I would think it couldn't hurt and only help

i cant see how it would hurt, i would think it would help by having more airflow.

The amount of air it scoops up from under while driving is huge when compared to the air that would flow into the hood. I think if anything it may hurt cool performance only a very very little (given that air is flowing in behind the radiator). In fact it may even improve it if sitting in traffic . Might let some of the hot air escape upwards more

Thanks for the responses...I agree the ratio of air entering the scoop versus the bottom ducting is very small.

I think it would help cool the engine a negligable ammount. Would deffiantly make it a little dirtier though.

My SS hood didnt have the air box in it and I didnt notice any cooling temp differences at all.. but the thought of coolair coming in was reassuring and nice to know the motor getting some ventalation in that cramped space wvwn if it did nothing.
