Noisy 1.6 Roller Rockers - Normal??

I installed a set of roller rockers about six months back and they seems noisy. I have adjusted them a couple of times and am quite sure they are set right. Last time did them while running. They are not too loud when you stand in front of the car and blip the throttle by hand, but when you sit in the car and drive slowly, it is really pronounced. Lots of ticking. Not a heavy noise, just sounds like the VW I used to drive many many years ago.

These are GM Performance Parts rockers. Anyone else have this issue? If so, is there likely anything wrong here. Just wondering. I want this thing to run smooth.

Thanks,
Bill H

yup, I have the same 1.6 gmpp self-aligning roller rockers.

I hardly hear ticking while I drive - when the hood is shut, I only hear the ticking/clacking if I stick my head near the wheel wells on each side.

Have you tried running the car while the valve covers are off? That way, although you'll spray oil all over the place, you could adjust the rockers one by one until the clacking goes away.

If not, maybe you have an exhaust leak - I had an exhaust leak and it sounded suspiciously like a bad lifter/loose rocker arm.

aren't roller rockers always noisey? lots of minute movement with the rollers. that is why you need the LT4 km so that you don't get false knock from the rocker noise.
