Its not an LT1 but i hope it all the same trouble shooting
Its a 89 Olds Cutla 6cyl (my moms car)

So it has a really loud ticking sound comming from under the front valve cover. What/how do i check to what is causeing the noise.

I have the valve cover off and when i start the car i cant see anything moving weird. But i did notice that one pushrod was spitting out Alot of oil compaired to the other. The other i could barley see any oil comming out off.

I took of that one rocker and took the pushrod and it is still making the noise.

Again i know this isnt a LT1 problem, but i would be gratfull if you guys could help me out/not remove this thread

Anyways, without hearing or seeing your problem, from what you describe, it may be a lifter.

 

so is their a way to check for a bad lifter?
