when ever i go over any kind of bump i'm getting a clunking/squeking from the rear end of the car, depending on the size of the bump. i've been going through old posts searching for similar problems. so far the most common ones that match my problem either say it was sway bar or LCA bushings. i've gotten under it once so far and the sway bar seems to be ok, but cant say for sure

can anyone else confirm or deny these possiblities? or any other ideas?
i'm gonna get under today again and get someone to push down on the rear while i'm under to see if i can locate it. i'll post any discoveries later

The rear springs tend to squeak on their bottom metal perches. Put some grease right where the rear spring sits on the bottom perch. When I did that my speed bump rear squeak dissapeared.

 

I second that-I had the noise coming from my driver side spring, i sprayed WD-40 for a quick fix-grease is better.

 

I fixed mine by Greasing the bushing on the Panhard's Passenger side, Its been months and no problem.

Pushing down on the car did not reveal the problem in my case. I did the methodic (one at a time) squirt with WD40 and that revealed the problem. WD40 wont last long. Use real thick grease.

I slipped a section of rubber air hose around the bottom coil on the spring and loaded it up with antisieze. I also grease my sway bar bushings (when I pushed the rear from side to side they squeaked). Next is panhard bushings and LCA bushings, I suggest trying the sway bar and the little coil trick.

 

well, as said i wasnt able to hear n e thing by getting under and having someone push down on the rear end

however, i was about to start greasing the bottom of the spring perch (as suggested), and behold, the bushing on my right rear shock had poped out 90% of the way! i dont know how i missed this last time i was under it, but i did know that the shock was almost shot because it had some oil leaking out of it down the side.

so, the only thing left to decide is weather or not to get the el-cheap-o 20$ a pair shocks to last me till next spring (cause the car is going away in a month and a half for the winter), or get the good KYB or Bilstien shocks now. keepin in mind i'm on a tight budget right now. hmmmm.........

 

When I purchased my car used, it had a horrible rattle in the rear left. I spent an hour underneath it looking around until I noticed the bushing on the shock had popped out. The dealership put a new shoch on and I never have had one rattle, clunk or squeak since.

Also you cant replace those bushings, you have to have a new shock.

Mine rear creecks when it's cold, it sounds god awful. It does goes away when it's warm up though
