I have a weird noise kinda like a rattle/grinding coming from what sounds like under the console to passenger front seat. I first thought it might be a heat sheild, but its not. It only does it when the car is in gear with the brake on. Its really noticeable at stop lights.

 

check yr brakes dude, sounds like pads are worn down

 

I had a similar noise (from your description) and it was a loose exhaust flange between Y pipe and cat...

If I read you right, I have that exact noise. Look under your car, right behind the passenger side tire. There's a black plastic block, wiggle it. If it moves around that's your noise.
