Question Noise in engine compartment after OVC install?!

I just did my Taylor OVC install. Took me 5 hours by myself....But anyway, I took it for a test drive and when I stopped at a red light I could hear this funny noise coming from the engine compartment.....I can hear it good inside the car through the console. I opened the hood and I could hear the noise coming from the passenger side. It almost sounds like a distant helicopter only with a static like noise to it as well. It gets louder as I give it gas and quieter as I let off. Only thing I did with the valve covers was take the bolts out and put the new ones in from the OVC kit. Any ideas?

Thanks!

OK disregard the first post, I figured out the problem. It was the damned oil dipstick. If I push it in all the way it makes a scraping sound and pops out like an inch. If I pull it out like an inch and a half, the noise stops.....hmmmm...any ideas on this one?

Is the dipstick bent?
did you cut down the dipstick tube when you did the header install?

Yeah I cut the tube down about an inch and a half, and I STILL cant get the damn thing very far in there. Not far enough to bolt it down atleast.

HMM.
I cut mine down as well and it went right in, well ok it took a little coaxing but nothing to Hulk out on.
Work on getting your dipstick tube all the way in.
I think you might be getting interference from the dipstick bouncing up and down, kinda vibrating if you know what I mean.
Get you tube all the way in and it will lower your dipstick to the right place.
One guy on here said I would have problems with cutting the dipstick tube but so far I,m golden.

What did you use to cut the tube with? I had to use a hack saw and it wasnt a very str8 cut at all.

I sanded my dipstick down a bunch and then put a screwdriver in it from the top and hammered it in. Didn't cut it either.

I tried putting the screwdriver in the tube and hammering it in there....no dice. I guess I will go and buy a new one and try it with that. Its not causing any problems, I just dont want it to fall out while I am driving. That would be bad.

We also straightened out the tube to force it in better and then put the bend in it.
