This noise is driving me crazy!!!
I was wondering if anyone has rigged up somthing to temporarly fix the elbow on the intake from leaking on the bottem side of the throttle body. The underside of the elbow is ripped a little. It will be about a week till I can get a new one. I can't see it hurting any thing, and I might get a ses light but you can hear it inside the car and it is driving me nuts.

How badly is it ripped?
If it is just a hairline-thick crack, get some thick CA glue and it will form a tight seal. If it is a little bigger than that, u could always put on a few layers of epoxy in order to seal off the air leak.
Sooner or later though, ur gonna have to bite the bullet and just buy a new elbow.

none of the rubber is missing but It is comming apart right where it gets clamped to the throttle body on the bottem side. Do you think silcone would work or would it get too hot and melt??

Silicone is extremely high resistant to high temperature. Epoxy is strong and solid, whereas silicone is more flexible and malleable. Both are pretty heat resistant and would work well, but silicone may just be a better option in this case.

i'd get that fixed. you're sucking in unmetered air that way, and if it gets real bad, it can cause you to go dangerously lean. fix it.

So just basic silcone will work then?? How hot can the stuff get till it will melt?
