No start help needed

My fuel pump died at the start of the winter and I just got around to putting a new one in (the fuel pump was verified that it was dead in test fluid and with that pump I had no fuel pressure). The fuel pump problem seems to be fixed but the car won't start. It never fires or tries to start, it just cranks over.

What I have checked:
Fuel pressure is good
Voltage is 12.5 and drops to about 10.5 while cranking (is that low?)
Strong blue spark while cranking with a plug grounded to the block
Using an automotive stethescope I can hear the injectors pulse during
cranking
Car ran great before the pump died (so a mechanical problem like no compression is unlikely)
During cranking the PCM commands the injectors to fire and PW goes to "0" when throttle is depressed (like it should for clear flood mode) verified with Freescan.
Plugs smell like fuel when they are removed
The plugs are black on the porcelin (I assume from poor combustion when the pump died) I am replacing them all now. I tried to start it after replacing 2 plugs and the cylinders with the new plugs still don't fire.

I don't know what else to look at. The only thing I can think of is that the injectors are firing at the wrong time (possibly from a bad opti?? I don't even know if that is possible but the car has been sitting outside for a while). Does anyone have any ideas?

the only other detail that I can think of that might apply is that the car does have a mallory ignition box on it.

Squirt NEW fuel into the intake while someone cranks it over.

Re: No start help needed

I wanted to add that freescan says that there are no codes reported.

I will try the fuel tonight. I am going to pick up a noid light first and make sure that the injectors are getting told to pulse (just to make sure that the clicks I hear with the stethescope aren't something else).

I'll let you know what I find.

Re: No start help needed

When you said to use new fuel it made me realize that the fuel in my tank had been sitting for quite a while. I put in 10 gallons of new fuel and purged the lines and it started right up.

Thanks
Dustin
