The last time I drove my Camaro water started pouring out and I assumed it was the radiator since it already had a small leak so it sat for several months. I went to start it to pull it in the driveway to put a new radiator in and it fired right up and ran for a second or two and then died. Now i've got no spark from the coil. I'm thinking now that it could have been the water pump that let go and soaked the opti. Would it have started like that and ran for a couple of seconds if it were the opti or should I start somewhere else?

If the opti had a low voltage problem it would set either a DTC36 or a 16. The 36 sets the SES. The 16 does not set the SES but shuts off the injector pulses and the fuel pump.

So if you have consistent fuel pressure, you know it has a decent feedback signal from the opti.

Therefore the next logical thing to check is the IC signal on the white wire to the ICM. It should be 1 to 4 volts AC when cranking the engine. If that's not there, check the pink/black wire on the ICM for 12 volts DC with KOEO.

Watch your setting on the meter between AC and DC
