no spark at plugs

It won't start jus turns over and I've got spark at the coil and no spark at the plugs. I'm going to say its the opti, but just wanted to see if anybody had any other ideas before I changed it. I've set a goal of 28 minutes to tear it all down and get the opti out though if I do have to replace it.

Alright, 28 minutes starting.... NOW!

Actually, did it just not start one morning or did it break down on you? If it died while you were driving then Id point my finger at the opti otherwise Id keep on looking around.

I was WOT at about 5500rpms, lol. It popped a few times, I let up, got back in it part way and it was at 3000rpms and then held there(wouldn't go higher), then just died. It popped twice right as I tried to start it after that, but then it wouldn't even try to fire after that.

I just tried to start my car tonight ('93 Z28) and it popped twice then would turn over but not start. I'm gonna check for spark tomorrow. Maybe our problems are similar?

Yep. I was flying thru first gear and got up to about 5000 rpm when all of a sudden it was like i hit a wall and the rpms dropped to 400 and hovered there for a second before i shut if off and coasted into a gas station.. never did a damn thing till i got a new opti in there later that week. damn opties.

Figured so, just though I'd double check with everyone to make sure I didn't miss anything. Guess I'll tear down tomorrow or Tuesday.

Re: no spark at plugs

If I pull the coil wire off the opti I have spark there as already stated.
