Angry no spark lt1

hey guys im new here so ill start with a little history.
i have an 81 turbo trans am with a lt1 and a six speed from a 95 camaro.
my problem is i have no spark even after i checked all my wiring (its a freeking mess since im using the factory harness) it all checked out. i have power everywhere i should. its killing me the only dtc's i have are about the coolant temp and fans. i also replaced the module and distibutor with brand new peices with no help. any insite will help. i cant wait to here this thing through my spintech exhaust.

Re: no spark lt1

Is there no spark coming from the coil? Or isthere no spark going to the plugs? If you have spark come from the coil, coil is good, if not, its the coil. If you have no spark going to the wires and you got it from the coil, optispark is bad.

Re: no spark lt1

no spark at coil. but the injectors are firing. its a brand new acdelco opti and icm. I checked the coil with my voltmeter and checked out to be ok. my shop manual says i should have between 1 and 5 volts ac at the icm while cranking. I do not have that. but i do not know why. I think its the pcm but i want to make sure. thanks for the advice

Re: no spark lt1

I have heard of coils giving the correct voltage and still not working worth a crap. Double check to see if the ICM is installed properly. Im not sure on the fourth gens but is there a fusable link for the coil? Fuse? Check the spark plug wire. Make sure the connector is on good and tight. Only thing I can think of bud.

Id also try another ICM. Just because its new doesnt necessarily mean it works.

Re: no spark lt1

I had a similar problem when I swapped a 95 lt1 into my tr7 using a factory harness. Some battery leads (12v +) that come off of the fuse block are live with the key on but shut off during cranking. Make sure that you are connected to a feed that does not get killed at start up. That might be your problem.

Thanks curt ried that yesterday before i read your reply. but u were dead on thats exactly what it was. It fired up and i shut it off to hook everything up the correct way and then i ahad an injector stick open and it hydrolocked. i posted that in a new thread, i hope it didnt bend anything. Wont know until i get new injectors later this week and fire it up. Hope it doesnt knock. Wish me luck.
