Ok, i used the voltage meter and checked everything that it says in the haines manual. Eveything came out right on the money. It still wouldnt spark. I decided to disconnect the plug about halfway up the intake on the passengers side that runs from the opti to the PCM. I did this with the key on. I heard some clicking noises from somewhere ( I think the PCM) when i plugged it back in. I think it reset or something. Then it started up fine and continues to start up fine. I dont understand what the deal is but im afraid to drive it very far. Does anyone know what the deal is with it? Thanks for all of your help.

Poor connection in the opti harness. You might want to take it all the way off and check it for corrosion and tightness of the pins.

Are you talking about the pins on the opti side or the pins on the side that plugs in half way down the intake? I might be able to get the plug off the opti but getting in back on looks like its gunna involve takin off the water pump. What are the chances that this is the opti? It has about 16k on it. Thanks

Check both ends of the harness, but I bet it is corrosion on the opti end. You should be able to get the connector off the opti without taking anything else off (not saying it will be easy).
