No SES light when I'm down a cylinder?

I've had nothing but trouble with my ignition system for the past month. New coil, plugs, wires, opti, etc. I was driving the car after getting it fixed again, and it had no power, could barely get past 2000 RPM's unless I shifted it myself. Gave it to my cousin who runs a shop and he thinks (as I did also based on the way its felt the past 2 days) that the car is down a cylinder. My question is, what would cause the cylinder to stop working yet not throw the SES light?

OBD1 car's are rather insensitive. I've had misses due to a burnt spark plug and no SES light ever came on.

Since you've tried everything in your igniton system, try your computer next. It might have gotten corrupted or something.
