No power after valve spring swap!!!
No power after valve spring swap!!!
i hava a issue with a 94 camaro . i just put 918 beehive springs with the matching components , and ways , i got it all back together and went to start it and it drags and drags to start , before the spring swap it fired with ease , . after it does start it wont rev very good at all but when it warms up its does fine , now before i go any farther i have 1 02 sensor unpluged until my extention gets here, but what i went to take it for a spin down the road and it dont miss or anything , but when i floor it it sounds like im flying but im not goin anywhere , its got a th350 and 3500 stall also to add , but would this be something like the rockers not adjusted prpoerly or what could this be , and what would it run like it the rockers are too loose or to tight? i cant figure it out cause thats the only thing thats been off of it
what if there a lil on the loose side? ...but it kinda feels like the trany is slipping when i floor it , but i know it aint , its just gott me puzzled , im gonna get some one to go over the rockers for me to make sure there is no other probs doroes this sound like the rockers could even be the prob , i mean thats the only thing ive turned a bolt on
Most of the issues I have seen have involved rockers being too tight and therefore causing compression issues and poor performance with lack of power. If they are loose to the point of degrading the lift you should be hearing quite a bit of rocker noise.
Interesting, we just put a hotcam in my buddies car, and we started it with one o2 sensor off as well, car wouldn't stay running so we made our own extension. Car now idles but still feels like u have the ebrake hooked when u drive it..I told him it could be him using his stock injectors when its programmed for 30 lb injectors, or we got his overhead to tight..also, he is running an open ypipe but I didn't think it would cause this condition.
when i adjusted the valves, i tightened them 1/2 turn past no pushrod movement. I did notice however that when i did that, the lifter seat was still touching the spring on top, meaning it never bled down any.. some lifters did bleed down some but there were 4 or 5 that were still touching the spring. I just figured that it would eventually bleed down to where it needed to be..these were stock lifters as well..im gonna take the valve covers off and adjust them engine running method
