No more Comp R lifters..... Right?
That is what I have been reading from the search. Just wanted to make sure. Would the comparable replacement be the Comp 875-16?
Thanks...
Thanks...
How big of a cam are you going with? How high are you going to be spinning this thing to? All plays a big part. I was in the same bost but I have decided to go with a solid roller. From what I have heard from Comp, they don't know when they will be back.
There were 3 companies making hr sbc lifters for everyone. One closed and the other burned down (cant remember), leaving one company to make HR lifters for everyone (comp/crane/etc.). Now there's a company supposedly making 875 lifters again for comp, but it isnt the same company, and considering the tight tolerances it might not be a bad idea to see how well they perform compared to the old ones.
Really, comp calls them a fast bleed lifter and claims they wont pump up... but IMO there isnt much special about them. Do they not pump up by design, or is it comp just telling people to set them with .003-.004 preload as opposed to .030" & charging more for them

Since we won't have Comp R's for awhile, what can we go with? I have a CC306 spinning 6700-6900 RPM, so I think I need a decent set of lifters. Should I just buy OEM GM lifters, or does crane or some other company have anything decent?
