hi all--

just traded in my 89 r/s for a 95 Z-28...should have done this alot sooner...i do have some questions for everyone...the car came with an LT1...what can i expect from this engine??i did notice an MSD ignition/electronics, flowmaster muffler/exhaust, found a receipt from summitt with headers(couldn't read the brand--wet runs) and a crane cam in the owners manual...i am assuming this car has been modded a little...any ideas what kind of gains it has???

anyways, if anyone knows of any little bugs/glitches/gremlins that come with the LT1 i would love the info..also, it has the 6 speed manual tranny--any need to nows on that??thanks for any help...sinjin 89r/s

 

Congrats on the new ride......... It's gonna be hard to tell what you have without seeing the car. You didn't mention "seeing" headers so I assume the car has the stock manifolds? What about idle? Is it smooth or kind of lopey? I guess my point is that the previous owner could have added mods while he had it, and then taken some or all of them off. He could have removed the headers, but left the cam, or taken them both out. You might take off the drivers side valve cover and have a look under it to see if you have the stamped steel rockers or roller rockers. Sometimes people add roller rockers to these cars alone, but when a cam is installed you almost always do roller rockers too.
