Lightbulb No Emissions law, Recommend me an exhuast setup...

Hey all,

Only second post, still happy to be here

So I've managed to get my hands on a completely stock 94 Z28 (Conv., although I need a new top) and I've decided the first thing I'm going to change is the exhaust. What are the top two exhaust set-ups out there, factoring in both air flow and sound?

I'm not looking for loud (contrary to my age group), I want more of a clean sound. Unfortunately, it's an automatic, I figured I'd note that too.

Z-Gods, enlighten me

Long tubes headers without emissions fittings, off-road y-pipe, and a catback of your choice.

LT headers, true dual over the axle with x-pipe. Yup, expensive, flows awesome. Use a bullet muffler to quiet it down if desired. Use H-pipe for better sound with slightly less flow.

Ultimate flow? Custom headers that take the out-of-sequence port to the other side before entering collector!!!! Godawful expensive, but hey, it's got a WOW factor, may never have been done before on an LT1.

Truly cool, but loud: LT headers, no emissions provisions, side exit in front of rear wheels Nascar style (or used NASCAR!) flat tubes. X-pipe.

I like the way my magnaflow sounds, and i will have SLP headers on there soon. Im keeping the cat because i have a vert too and i dont want it to stink like gas when i have the top down, and ive heard the magnaflow gets very raspy with out a cat. Theres not much difference in performance between different cat backs so just get the one that sounds best to you.
For your new top, ide recomend www.tops4less.com because ive delt with them before and they have a great product and price.

If you didn't know about it, here's a pretty good site for exhaust clips:

Question Re: No Emissions law, Recommend me an exhuast setup...

Guys, I'm new to this site, but not new to Borla systems. What is everyone's impression of the Borla, aside from the high price?

quiet.. sounds good too..?? .. hmmm haha same setup i have, sounds GREAT extremely quiet for a car with LT headers. its quieter than my friends 305 77 nova with dynomax headers and true duals w/ flowmaster 40 series... my setup is Hooker LT (any lt will do) true duals (no balancer pipe, or if u prefer an even more clean sound an x-pipe is more in line for you) into dynomax ultra flo - pn/17218
this setup is relatively quiet as i mentioned but the compliments i get on it are unbelievable
