Ngk Tr55 Gapping ?'s

I just purchased these plugs for my 94 z28 and had a question as to best way to gap them. and if .044 is best gapping.
The box says to not gap then because of sensitive electrode tip?

any luck or is there a best tool to use? THanks

Leave them as they are out of the box, they will be just fine. Out of the box they are gapped to .037 if I remember correctly.

A lot of people say .05, but my dyno tuner likes .035-.040. You really should just go by what your tuner is comfortable with, sometimes they may have a preferance.

tr55 standard copper plugs will be .05 out of the box. You can buy a tool to gap them from summit. I just tapped mine on the cement and checked gap.

You can get the gap tools just about anywhere, auto parts store, hardware store, or even Wal-Mart. I would verify the gap and adjust if needed before installing.
