Next Mod??
Next Mod??
What is a good next mod to do in helping with power but keeping the car streetable? I am not looking at spending a ton on it as of right now but would like some good power adder ideas. My mod list is just like my sig states. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks fellas.

Electron: How do you like your pacesetters? I just recieved my coated pacesetter longtubes in the mail yesterday and they look really nice...looking to install them before winter or may wait until spring.
A 2800-3000 stall converter will be your best et mod.....but if you are simply worried about hp then you have a few options.
1. electric waterpump (10hp?)
2.1.6rr's (5-15hp?)
3.asp underdrive pulley- Balancer replacement one (10 or so hp) I gained 1.5 mph with the addition of it.
4. Cam, but 1.6rr's and new springs are almost a must with a new cam (hp is variable, but 20-40hp ish)
5.Pcm tune if you don't already have one (could add anywhere from 5-15 or 20 hp)
6. A tornado with an electric supercharger (75 hp)
ok number 6 was a joke......so don't get all excited

Re: Next Mod??
I am curious if I should do 1.6 or 1.7 roller rockers. Which one will net the most gain and still be streetable on the stock motor? I have thought about nitrous but I don't know if it is worth it to risk blowing my motor for a few tenths in a 1/4 ET. I am possibly thinking of doing the delteq but I don't know if it is worht it because the stage 1 still uses the opti which is the whole reason anybody would want to upgrade.
PS: I do like the headers. I have a lot of problems with them on the install and still some clearence problems with the crossmember under the car. The EGR and AIR fittings didn't line up and the threads were overcoated with ceramic coating. It was a major pain in the ***.

Re: Next Mod??
1.7's will give you more than 1.6's from more lift, but I personally wouldn't want to use 1.7's. With that long of a rocker arm, you put more sideloads on the pushrods. This is why LS1's seem to be more prone to bending pushrods anywhere past 6200; they have 1.7's stock with no guideplates. You will also have to get valve springs with 1.6's. The stock springs will be very close or at coil bind. The LT4 springs would be the best for cost/quality. You can get them from paceperformance.com for $72 with retainers and locks. With 1.6's you'll gain 10-15rwhp and a more stable valvetrain from the roller tips and stiffer LT4's.
