Newly rebuilt engine, open long tubes possible to burn an exhaust valve

I rebuilt the engine and put hooker long tubes on it but now i dont have any money to put custom exhaust on it. I need to break it in right first which im told it should run for about 20 minutes at various rpms. Then after that i have about a 15 minute drive home. Will this burn an exhaust valve because it is a fresh engine?

No man its all good, with LTs you will have enought backpressure, you will be fine. If you want to go the cheap route and be safe go buy 2 cherry bombs 10 bucks each and that will help ya out.

yeah i'd just clamp a couple feet of 3" pipe to each collector, will make sure you don't hurt the valves and it will keep the heat away from the fuel lines and things for safty.

there are many guys running cutouts right off their LTs

your fine,
id highly advise against open manifolds or something though.

the valve wont "burn," its stainless steel (usually)
it can withstand an insane amount of heat.

with open manifolds or something you run the risk of warping it slightly when cold air rushes in there after you shut the car off
