New water pump, engine now running hot??
I just replaced the water pump the last couple of afternoons on my 97 Z and I filled the water back up the way the owners manual showed. Now the car sitting, reaches 210+ and I cant see the fans working. At what temp should they kick on? And could I have unpluged something by accident, or is there an air pocket I didnt get out, or whatever? Any suggestions? After the car reached that temp, I thought maybe it does have an air pocket in it. So I opened the bleeder valves and they shot out coolant. Please help.
Thanks
Bass
Oh yea, btw, I just bought this car about 4 weeks ago.

well, I think when your bleeding air from the sytem you want to have it cool and have the cover off so it isn't pressurized...but I could be wrong. The fans don't come on until 226 degrees.

The way I fill my car up is like this: fill it up. Crank it up with cap off. Let it run for a few minutes, topping it off whenever you can. When you can't top it off anymore, put the cap back on and run it to operating temp. Cut car off and let it cool. Top it off again. Should be good to go but I check mine the next few times before I drive anyway.

I started it when it was cool, with the valves closed and the radiator cap off. It started to run out of the radiator, like alot, so I closed the cap. But I will try your way in the morning. Thanks

Also, keep in mind what was posted earlier. Stock fan settings are way up there. I have mine coming on around 185 in the summer with a 160 tstat and temps don't make it past 175 cruising.
