But If You Still Want The GM Optispark With The GM Label Please See Our Other Auctions"

Hmm i dont see it that way They are made by the same oem supplier so all the main parts(sensor/casing)are oem and already assembled by the same place that make the one with the stickers. He can sell the same opti with the AC/DELCO box and stickers for 230$ i think but he can sell the exact same thing without the AC/DELCO box and stickers for less.

It seem to be logical, you pay more because the Delco stikers are on them.

If it where some kind of scam there would be no mention about delco parts but hey i could be wrong. Also just check how many of them he already sold in his feedback comment. The opti sales are probably 30% of his market and absolutely not bad comment on it so it must work but again i could be wrong

I ve paid 500$ for a msd that last 60 miles and then stop workin because the rotor was rubbing in the casing badly. Then they sent me another one on warranty exchange and you know what??? the timing dics is not flat,it wooble and touch the opti sensor so this is also bad.I ve ask for a complete refund because know im pissed.

If you can get an oem (with delco stickers)from Jason for 230$ i dont know why i should be worry about an delco opti without all the badges(but probably same part numbers) for less since im not really paying more for the name on it.

Like ive stated before i will do a full review with assembled and disasembled pictures and watch for flaw or part number.I should receive mine around wednesday and probably post the review on friday on a dedicated post.

I'm pretty sure the GM opti I recently put on my car had the part number stamped into the casing somewhere. According to all ignition, their distributors do not have the part number on the casing. I'm not sure whether that means anything, or not.

Where did you guys find torx sets small enough to take these opti's apart? When I took my old opti off, I went to Advance and Sears and neither place had any torx sockets/wrenches that were small enough.

I've got a brand new one from the a GM dealer and there is no part number on it. There is a number in ink stamped on the aluminum part on the side, but its not a part number.

I wonder if they quit putting part numbers on them at some point. I'm almost positive the one I just installed had the part number stamped along the edge of the casing. I'll confirm that the next time I take it off.

They may have, I bought mine back in Nov '06. It also has a white center section like in the pic above and the one I bought for my truck about 3 years ago had a black center section...the center section being the part that the harness plug into.

My optispark has started to give up the ghost, so I ordered one of these ebay units (non-vented). After I get it I'll take it apart and post up some pics.

I got a screw with a torx head that matches the ones on the opti - and used it as a socket. I had to dremmel the head down a bit to fit it in the recessed holes. Then I used vice grips to hold the screw while I removed those wacko screws.

By the way - I just installed one of those ebay units this weekend. I haven't put antifreeze in yet for a road test (giving the gasket sealer 24hrs) - but I will let you know. My original opti had 96K on it - I replaced it cause I broke the coil nipple when I did the wires a couple of weeks ago. Anybody ever see the inside of an opti with this kind of mileage? The rotor was pretty black and burned on the outside - wondering how she is going to run now.

Here's my opti that died around 96K:
(the rest of it looked fine)

I had a screw fall-out and the rotor get loose on a GM Opti that had been installed less than one year. It caused a random high RPM miss that took some time to find.

Whatever brand Opti you're installing, I recommend using thread-locker on the rotor screws and ensure the screws are tightened correctly.

Warning!

i just want to key you guys in, these are NOT delco units. The black cap and rotor is automatically a knock off. They aren't installing their own black caps on these units, they are buying the knock offs and selling them as delcos. If you want to really see if they are full of **** or not, ask them to send you a delco unit without their cap and rotor for $150, tell them you want the unupgraded stock brownish yellow cap. GOOD LUCK! Because it won't happen. The partsladi is the cheapest you can get a stock distributor, period.
