I just got my tune today from ion, i am not knocking him i know he has a very high rating. before i mailed my pcm to him to get tuned it ran, got it back today went to start it, it just cranked for 5 or so seconds, nothing. so stoped and waited a few seconds tried again and it fired up, but it idled for 3 or so seconds and shut off. What does this sound like to you guys fpr? fp? I dont think the tune would cause that?

 

check your MAF it sounds like it isnt hooked up or there is a big leak after it.

Its not that, i went and check. When it idles if i rev it up to about 1200 or so, it will idle but then all the sudden shuts off. then it can take a few seconds to start again? this sucks

 

Interesting. Does the SES light flash and/or your fans turn on when you turn the key to power accessories?

 

no light yet, i dont know about the fans?

 

when i said it dies when i rev it, i mean when im holding the gas down it just shuts off!

 

Unhook your MAF sensor and try starting it.

I was just checking to see if maybe the PCM you have is corrupt and the biggest sign is the motor runs for 3 sec and dies for no apparent reason. But when this happens the SES flashes and the fans will run which you arent experiencing... so its gotta be something else.

 

ill check again, but it doesnt idle long enough to flash,,, but it does flash when it shuts off but not while it runs for a few seconds , let me go see about the fans

 

it doesnt flash it just shows up when it shuts off which i think is normal, i dont think i can hear any fans but i have open headers, and i run to check but it shuts off by then

all i know is, before i sent it, i was driving it with no problems other than it woudlnt idle when it was warm due to the hotcam and the 383 setup, but now it doesnt? is it some kind of Vehicle anti theft thing or something?>

 

went and unpluged the maf, it started and died immediatly so i think the maf is good.

 

Sounds like possibly Ion put the wrong tune on your car.

 

if thats all it is, thats fine i can get that fixed in no time, i emailed him asking him what he thinks about it. i just hope its not anything more complex, because this is my only means of transportation! thanks for your help turbo z

 

anyone else have any ideas? i emailed ion and he said there is nothing wrong with the tune, had me unhook the battery but i still got the same result, runs for 5 seconds and shuts off?

 

Is the tune the only thing you did to the car? or did you do some othe mods on top of the tune. That might help narrow it down.
