New tranny and same problem...help!

Well the shop put the new tranny in with torque converter and all that good stuff. Car won't go in any gear but third (gm defaults to that apparently when something is messed up). They said that it had to be a computer problem then since both trannies actually look perfect. I needed a built tranny anyways so no biggie, but I want my damn car back and currently they are trying to figure out what's wrong.

What could it be? They said something about either a prom or a computer problem...anyone have something similar to this happen?

Sorry to hear that... Unplug the PCM fuse for a while in the distribution block, it's a red one. Come back 10 mins later and see if your problems are fixed, I wish I knew more about automatics!

Did they put in a 94 tranny or a 95+?

PS. I'm almost positive the PCM reset won't sove this.

Well Quentin's car is a 94 so I'm assuming it's a 94 tranny. At least I think his car is a 94. It's definitly not something wrong w/ the tranny though. I'm stumped...

I don't know who Quentin is, but I would recommend to check that because it does matter. There are differences between 94 trannies and 95+.

Did you try swapping the PCMs with him?

I just found out about the problem today and he lives 2.5 hours away so that's not going to work. I could prolly swap w/ a friend and flash it w/ my program and see what's going on. Anyone in the Detroit area got a pcm laying around?
