New track times, 11s in sight?

Went 12.53 at 111.XX yesterday on drag radials. 1.87 60'

1500ft Density Altitude, which corrected to 0 feet would put me at 12.3 at 113s.

Just thought i would share. Next time at track with good or even negative DA...plan is skinnies up front, no front sway, no belt, ET streets, and iced intake.

Anyone ever hit 11s stock heads NA with an m6? I figure i can cut a .10 with skinnies (12.4) another .10 with iced intake and no belt (12.3). Then still have a better launch in it with no sway, and ET streets. Only left at 4k rpms. A 6500 drop will be fun if my clutch holds on the stickies

Beginning of this year i wanted 12.5s which i got, now goal is 11.99. Any thoughts? Figure its going to take a 1.75 or lower 60', and luck of weather gods.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but i've never heard of anybody taking their belt off. Is it safe to run with no belt? It just reduces the amount of weight the crank has to turn right?

No accesories to drive. No power steering pump, no ac compressor (even though its off), and no alternator.

You will get about 3 runs in before you have to put the belt back on and recharge the battery.

As for safe, i dont see why not. I havent done it in awhile, but used to pretty often when i was first shooting for 12s. Cars are HARD to steer until you get moving, other than that all was good. Normally a solid .10 by pulling it off. Its like an underdrive pulley on steroids.

Atljar, I hear ya man. Check out that thread of the guy who ran 11.11. He said the guy he ran against(which looked like an fbody) went ~11.8@110 1.65? 60' . I saw that and it was a slap in the *****, I have the power and mph, just not the 60'. Hell, i'm not even in the 12s yet! I still need to get to maple grove and rip off a nice time because beaver springs wasn't cutting it......

Congrats on your new time.

Thanks again jeff. I know i said 12.1-12.2 over on gcfba, which is well within reason, this may be pushing it a little too far though. We will see.

When is the blue streak hitting the track again?

Here is that other post I was talking about with the awesome 60's. I think your plan is possible, especially if you get those ET streets to stick

Good luck.

Do I think you have a chance at getting to the 11s?

Yes, I do.

Good luck.

Thanks guys...

Jeff-
Friday nights at E water or is it back to saturday days? I have to pull the axle bearings (yuck) to put in new rear studs. If i get that fixed ill be there.

Marcin-
Never had the car weighed, but its heavy. No weight reductions, 1/2 tank of gas, me, 12 bolt, 50lbs of misc crap in the trunk/rear, 17s all around with 275s on all 4. I would guess 3700-3800? I REFUSE to pull out stuff to make a car lighter other than swapping tires. Rear seats, interior panels, my spare and jack, they all stay. its a street car.

Congrats Jared!! It's cool to see a street car run and run that well in street car form. I would love to see what you put down in race attire
