New Times...........but low MPH?

Earlier this year I was running right at 13.9@100mph. After a few more visits to the track and some LT1 Edit tuning changes, I was able to run these numbers a couple weeks ago........

60ft 1/4 mph
2.398 15.164 100.05
2.259 13.747 101.98
2.107 13.566 101.40 changed tune
2.098 13.542 101.66 changed tune again
2.137 13.523 101.86

Mods list:
1995 Z28 A4 3.23 88,000miles
MAC exhaust, MAC headers, AS&M CAI, Transgo Shift kit, BMR subframe connectors, LT1 Edit, Yoko AVS ES100 tires, pulleys

The 1-2 shift is still very strong but the 2-3 is getting pretty soft. I can't seem to get to 102mph for some reason. I would think for my times I should be around 103-104 maybe?? I am very happy with the times but I wish the mph were a bit higher.

Re: New Times...........but low MPH?

i guess i'm in the exact opposite situation as u. I had a 13.5 in the quarter mile but i trapped at 106. The time should be about 2 tenths quicker but its all about how you start off. Also, where in chicago are you from and where do you hang out.

I live in Willow Springs and work in Schaumburg. Work and school full time kinda limit my hanging out time. I was at Union Grove a lot over the summer.

I plan on 3.73s next year and 1.6 RRs so that should help me out a bit, if my trans doesn't die before then.

i wouldn't worry about it too much, A4's aren't good for high mph.

Re: New Times...........but low MPH?

Yeah the automatic and the weight of the car are the major factors. The motor is about right. For instance we just put a 94 T/A together for my freind, it has a 355 with a nice bottom end (built to use nitrous later) 11.5:1 comp ported LT1 heads and a nitrous specific cam in the 230/236 range. N/A it ran down the track mid 12s @ 110 mph (700R4, 3.42 gears). My other freind was there with his standard LT1 (97 T/A) with boltons and a cam, he was hitting low 13s high 12s @ 109 mph. If you lined these two ars up out on the street from a float the 94 T/A walks the 97 pretty good.

The autos will trap pretty conservatively considering.
