New rings and bearings time...Got a ???

My high mileage Daily driver is going to an overhaul this winter with a new set of rings, bearings, oil pump and main studs. I plan on honing the cylinders within spec to just rering them, polish the stock crank and use new bearings, resize the rods and use ARP bolts and new bearings for them...now my question is about cam bearings. Can they just be replaced with having to machine anything as long as they have not spun? I am a college student that will have a very tight budget so no boring with forged bottom ends or anything like that for now...but how do most LT1's look internally at 150k plus? The car has been owned by one other owner and he has all records of the car, so I know for a fact that Mobil 1 has been used since 1995.
I would love to just replace the previously mentioned items and add a small cam with new lifters and LT4 springs.....call it a day and continue driving it for a while.

That question really can't be answered until you tear the engine down and take a look at the bearings yourself. It's possible you'll see copper and it's possible they'll be immaculate. Have you called a machine shop to see how much it would cost to install new cam bearings? I dont' think it's that expensive.

When I re built my LT1 I had the machine shop just put in the Cam bearings. It was easier to have them do it and cheap. It was around $20 bucks I think. I had them do it since they could do it right after they hot tank it. Don’t leave the bearings in there when you get it hot tanked. Nothing good about having solvent soaking into your bearings. Definitely replace them. Its cheap and easy. There is no machine work necessary if they have not spun.

The first question that everyone should have asked is, "why do you think you need to overhaul the engine"?
150,000m is not that much on a modern engine, that's been well maintained.
