New plugs and car stumbles

I just put in a new set of plugs tonight and when the car tries to lug it stumbles a little but its fine when the rpms get up a little....does the computer have to adjust for the new plugs? if not i'll just check tomorrow to see if all the wires are on good.

Did you maybe cross some of the plug wires and attach them to the wrong plug?

Check to make sure all wires are going to the correct plug/provision on opti.

What plugs did you use and what did you gap them to?

Need info people are asking for..... what plugs, what gap? Are you sure they are all tight? ....sure you didn't crack an insulator? ....sure the wire terminals are firmly on the ends of the plug?

What was the condition of the plugs you removed?

No... the computer does not have to "adjust" for new plugs.

I have been seeing this happen where the plug although brand new is bad, no cracks to the insulation apparent, can cause miss fires and other problems like that. I have asked others and this seems to be happening more and more. Just what I have seen.

there NGK TR55's and I left the gap at whatever they were at .035 or .040 I would guess....i'll go out and check all the wires later, it decided to start snowing and i dont like working in the snow
the plugs that came out looked to be burning pretty good but they've been in it a while.....it had plugs with 2 different part number on them.
I am almost positive that I didnt crack an insulator.....the whole process went extremely well with the exception of the #2 plug.... Maybe I should just get a cheap set of wires and throw on it

You should check the gaps before installation and adjust accordingly. The usual gap is .050. Not that the gap is your problem in this case, but the plugs are generally a pia to begin with so it is important to gap them correectly and make sure they are all ok. JMHO

So did you or did you not gap the plugs? You said you left them at what they were at, but what exactly do you mean? If you put them in straight out of the box the gaps could vary from plug to plug. This happens when they are getting moved around. I know some of my plugs straight out of their boxes varied from .030 on some, all the way up to .060 or so on others.

Did you replace the coil wire as well? Make sure that one is snug too.

ok tonight I pulled all the plugs again...they were all at about .051 or .052. I tightened the gap up to .046 and there isnt any change......they all look to be burning the same. The car ran perfectly fine before I changed plugs...and thats all I did. It seems to idle fine and if you lightly accelerate it seems to be alright but if I try to open it up it just acts like it drops a cylinder.....im not sure what it could be.........oh yea and the SES light is not on
