New oil pan and pick don't fit??

Just bought a new Milodon oil pan with a built in windage tray and the corresponding pick from summit the other night. With the new pickup installed it hits the windage tray when i try to install the pan. Would I be hurting anything besides my chances of returning the pan if I cut a little bit of the pan out?

Summit parts numbers are:

Nope.. I'm running the same thing. I sectioned it out a little, cleaned up the edges and it works perfect.... Go ahead and tack weld your pickup tube in the oil pump though. I did, I've had one work loose and fall out before...

The pickup bolts to the oil pump housing, wont that be good enough to keep it from falling out? Kinda lacking a welder here.

Not sayin they won't work, jus that I like the security of havin it welded. Pull the pump , take it to an exhaust shop. They'll hit for a couple bux...

Awesome. Took less than a 1/4 in off and it fit perfect. Just like to check things out before I start cutting apart brand new stuff. Thanks Cartel.

Thats the way it should be-- Welding it ya chance warping the end plate which leads to a not so good pump.
