Im not the best person to give you the anwser to this, but I would pop that valve cover. My guess is that your probably runing roller rockers right? If so, are you runing stock valve covers? Im wondering if its making contact under there? But pull the cover off. When I took mine off no oil leaked.

I just hope its the drivers side, cause the passanger side is a PITA!

Get a $10 stethescope from an auto parts shop and try to track down the location of the squeak. Are you sure it is under the valve cover or on the bottom end? Do you have good oil pressure?

this is just a seggestion, it happened to me. when you rebuilt it, did you put on guideplates? yoou see when i did my 1.6rr last week, my dumb azz put the rockers on top of the studds rather than below the studs and my rr rubbed bad! luckly i caught what i was doing before i finished the pass side and fixed them. maybe that is you sound. i got some funny sounds adjusting mine! if this is the problem, do like me, put the guides in right, and get an oil chang!

AS mentioned above there could be a number of items not installed just right or in need of adjust on a fresh engine. Get in there and take a look.

Hey, riceinmybowl, I used to live in Martin. My wife taught pt-time at UTM in the english dept. and I was the CEO of Volunteer General Hospital. I miss that place.
