new lt1 bracket car

I just bought a 95 z/28 lt1.The past owner installed 4.10 gears,a "juice box" , removed the exhaust right before the cats, and a k/n filter with tube.everything else is stock.I would like to start by removing the smog pump and air conditioning pulleys and going to an electric water pump.Any help on where to get the bracets and a belt would be appreciated. This will be a bracket car only and plan on taking one thing at a time.If you have had any experience with TPIS let me know,Thanks.

The smog (AIR) pump is not driven by the belt, its electric. So all you have to do is unplug it, and unbolt it.

To delete the A/C, but a "1LE" A/C delete pulley. That's what GM used on the 1LE option that deleted the A/C. It uses the stock belt, in most cases.

The water pump is also not belt driven, so there are no "brackets" or belts involved. You but a new electric pump, that fits into the stock housing.

You need to take a good look at the front of your engine

TPIS was at the forefront of LT1 modifications in 1995. I had them clean and flow match my injectors. I don't think they have come up with anything new for the last 10 years. Spend some time looking over posts on the LT1 engine forum to see what vendors are a bit more "up-to-date".

I am in the process of building a bracket car as well. Fred (above) is and excellent source of information and one of the best people on the board. But like he said, learn the engine you are working on. The only things that are belt driven are the power steering, alternator, and AC. If you are just deleting the AC, then an AC delete pulley is all you need. If you want to delete the power steering too, then you need to get a custom bracket for the alternator. Thunder Racing sells them and it relocates the alternator to approximately where the AC used to be.

Good luck!
