New intake elbow doesn't fit?
New intake elbow doesn't fit?
I got this intake elbow TFS-3150800 from summit. I also have an SLP cold air intake, when I hook up the MAF the elbow is about 2 inches to long to fit onto the throttle body. Why would it not fit...and what can I do?
Re: New intake elbow doesn't fit?
Were you already running the CAI with the stock intake elbow, or is the CAI new too? All the Trick Flow elbows are the same dimensions, BUT there are different length intake tubes in CAI's depending on if you got one that was designed for a 93 model that didn't originally come equipped with a MAF. I'd be looking at the CAI as the reason it won't fit.

Right now I am thinking trimming the MAF housing is the best way.
Also, I tried to see if it would fit without the MAF, and it was then way to short...so I don't think the reason is that the CAI was designed to not have one.

Never fails: just when you've thought you'd seen it all, somebody always comes along that blows the last one out of the water.
Signing off of this thread before my head explodes...

Did you try holding the elbow in place without the rubber couplers? When I installed one, I had to really trim those couplers way back to get it all to line up and fit... I had to trim them back both on the connection to the TB as well as the connection to the MAF...

Yes I did, and it was still shifted to the left.
I just read this post from another thread...what do you think?
