new ignition, still have a miss and coil is arcing. need help!!!
alright i have been trying to track down a miss that my car has had since i put the new 355 in. first of all i have replaced opti 2x, coil 3x, plugs 3x, wires 2x, 02's 3x, new icm off my bros Z28, and just bought a new knock sensor as well. now last saturday i bought new MSD wires/coil, and some NGK TR55 gapped @ .50 and the car ran like a raped ape. next day on sunday i took the car to work and the car started to miss a little and i could tell the ecm was pulling the timing cuz i had a DTC43 (knock sensor) when i got to work. i noticed that the coil was arcing real bad when i got home and i just changed it out today with another MSD coil and it runs better it still breaks the tires loose at 50mph (crappy tires) but i have a DTC 33, 55, 64.
what im thinking is that maybe the plugs are too hot for my compression. my heads are shaved, running impala gasket, -5cc flat tops. somone told me that i should go with a colder spark plug like a tr6 or something like that. what do you guys think?

Well just a thought, I put on a new accel 300+ ign. system, and new accel coil, no problems, so then I had heads and cam put in, when I got it back I had the same prob. and the coil was arching on both sides of the coil... what happened was the h/c installer took off the ground cable, and mounted it on the block, so I put on another ground cable from frame to coil and that fixed my problem, sorry for long post... but you can try that..

i'll check the grounds to the coil but i know that they are all on there. only thing is that some of the wires are cracked and exposed, but again they are ground wires so i dont think it matters.
