When you order Hooker Long Tube Headers you can have them weld in the O2 bungs or do it yourself at the muffler shop and then coat them afterwards.

Sure. Just go to the search button on top of this page. Its a row of red buttons and it connects you to the search page. Type in free mods in the search box and search the LT1 forum. It should pop up old posts about the free mods. Good luck.

if you are going to have to take the intake off to fix the leak you might want to think about doing a cam right now since the intake will be off.

Z95M6: There is a lot more to a cam swap then the intake. For leaky intakes, generally you just get in, fix it, get out.
You'd have to pull the water pump, optispark, drop the front of the oil pan, pull timing cover, chain, rocker arms, lifters, etc etc.

My vote for next mod is a Corsa or Borla cat-back and a homemade CAI with K&N filter. You'll be in for a surprise when you compare the cost of LT1 parts to Mustang parts.

I am well a ware what is involved in a cam swap i have done them before. If the intake is off he is almost half way there. If he wants a cam he will just have to take it off to do it again later so why not do it now and do it once. The water pump, and opti is nothing.

Actually it's the egr supply tube, if routed to close the the intake can cause the sealent to break down causing a oil leak. EGR introduces exhaust gas to ther intake mixture, under cirtain driving conditions, to reduce combution temp. Blocking the egr can lead to detonation and loose of power.

I would do exaxtly what i did.

K&N FIPK.................................$180 for 10-15 rwhp

Cutout......................................$90 for 10-12 rwhp

AS&M 1 3/4 headers..................$350 for about 20 rwhp

4.10 gears..................................$500 for quicker acceleration

Pro 5.0 shifter..............................$150 for no missed shifts

The only thing i would have changed if i could would to do long tubes instead of my AS&M's for like 5 more rwhp. But thats just my opinion.

So how often does this work? is it like a 50/50 thing or a sure thing i will loose power?

The only time the egr even comes on is like on the highway in 6th. Mine is blocked off and i have had no problems. But i would not block it off till you have to. I just did it when i did my headers along with removing the airpump too.
