New Guy and ?

Sup yall, great site you have here. I just got my hands on a 1994 Z28, 4L60, T-Tops, nice. I will post pics if anyone is interested. Now for my question. Night I got it I gave it its breakin run, found out that she doesn't like to do burnouts/manually start in first gear under mid/heavy throttle. By that I mean it surges, kinda. I told the dealership and they said it was more than likely the tranny needing to be serviced. Got it serviced, new fluid, the works, and it still surges when I try to burn out or manually put it in first and start hard. Could it be my tranny doing this or something with the ignition? Could my plugs be bad or something along those lines or what. Under normal driving it does great and I don't have any problems, but under pressure its flawed. Thanks in advance for any help I get.

Welcome to the party!

Is it the engine that surges? A lot of people have stumble/surge problems from various problems within the engine. I don't have an auto so I know jack about your transmission.

I dunno, when it does it the revs go up like their supposed to, then drop when the car surges. When it first happened and I stopped it smelled like clutch kinda.

Chesee48, do you mean all 94 Z28's or just all 94 Z28's with Auto's? I have seen a few 94 Z's with 6spds from factory.

It sounds a lot like the stumble/surge probs that everyone has...I'd look into the plugs/wires tuneup and wee what that does for you. You can go from there, and new plugs and wires never hurt!

he def. means all auto's..there are many 6 speed 94's out there.

I would give her a tune up and see if that does anything for you. Plugs wires, fuel filter, all that stuff.

Cool, the car was lady driven so it was never really 'broken in' and it doesn't even have 100K miles on it yet either. A tune up probably would help, thanks for the info.
