new cap?
hey guys i wanted to ask some of you guys before re using the cap? all advice are taken! the plastic on the post has been melted a little. there was some oil inside i think current was trying to take the path of least resistance

honestly if it were mine I would buy a used cap. are the caps bad on opti's that got wet? if they aren't bad I would send you one for only say 15 shipped

A used cap?????? several are available as a kit with the rotor from Summit. Wet won't damage the cap. Yours shows typical wear. Liquid contamination usually screws up the optical encoder in the back half. If you had oil contamination, you should pay attention to the oil seal behind it and after that is replaced (if the oil came from that seal) replace the entire opti if it runs poorly.
yeah man, I love buying used. In my experience, take-offs last just as long as new parts. I have had new and used parts fail, and take-offs that last a good 20k or longer. I don't mind the headache of doing the work, and every time you do it you get better and faster! plus oem is built to last.
