New cam heads and no real improvement

I installed professionally ported LT1 heads, LT4 valves, hot cam kit, springs, rollar rockers, Lt4 Hot cam, new engine mounts,o2 sensors, temp sensors, and the car revs faster to 6300 but I see no real power improvement. What is my next step?

Sounds like the car is untuned? You should have seen a decent improvement over stock.

Nice to see another palm beacher around.. check out pbfbodies.com btw.

You have a stock 4L60E w/ no converter in there playa? It's gonna drive like **** w/o a stall and stock 3.23 gears.

Re: New cam heads and no real improvement

I have not had it tuned since all this was installed. Do you mean dyno-yuned? The progam for this car was downloaded to my laptop but with the new cam, all settings may need changing. Is there a tuner you recomend?

Thanks for the heads up on the web site.
Allready installed are: SLP long tubes, underdrive pully, 52 mm TB with foil, MSD ignition, SLP SS exhausts all the way back with low restriuction cat. CAI et.al.

For a hotcam and ported heads you could go with Bryan at pcmforless.com

Re: New cam heads and no real improvement

Get a nice 3600 stall in there and you'll be all set playa.... but yah your powerband has moved up.. the 383 builds torque, but still...

We should meet up at BMP sometime, I love that track.

Re: New cam heads and no real improvement

Javier,
Thanks for the tips. I will give him a try. Have you used him in the past? and It is good to hear from you . I remember you from SFFBA but that whole group lost its way. It looks like
pbfbodies.com will be the survivor.
Thanks,
maddog

Maddog.. I have used Bryan for everything from a basic bolt on tune, to my CC503 cam, and now with my 355 LE3 cam / LE2 head LT1.. Been using him for close to 4 years now.. no complaints!

Maddog.. what screenname did you used to go by?

Re: New cam heads and no real improvement

I have similar mods, although I also have SLP shorty headers, and I have the Comp 305 cam, but I think the 305 and hot cam are quite similar. I was a bit dissappointed in the seat of the pants power improvement as well. I have a MADZ28 tune. I installed an MSD ignition, and then a 52mm ported stock TB.

I have no dyno numbers but I think the TB did quite a bit of good as the car seemed to wake up and run harder. However, a dyno tune would be more objective.

Oh yeah, I drove a dead stock Z28 last week and noticed quite difference in comparison. It seemed quite a bit slower.

"1995z28" was it and I often referred to myself as the oldest living member of SFFBA
