New In Box PaceSetter's Quick Trip Long Tube Headers and Y Pipe - $435, Good Deal?

I found some new in-box PaceSetter's Quick Trip long tube headers for $435 on eBay and was wondering if that was a good deal. I wanted some Jet Hot long tubes and Y pipe, but these are so cheap. Any reason why I shouldn't go with them? I mean, I'm sure the Jet Hots are "better," but all I'm looking for is a good set of long tubes for a good price. Gaskets and fasteners necessary for installation are included. I mean, there's not some big problem with the Pacesetters is there?

They are from New Era Performance.

I have them and was very pleased with them, they the installation was a breeze. The collector fit was a bit close to the floorboard but no big deal that I couldnt take care of. I would not buy them from that link cause they are the same price from summit and you dont have to pay shipping.

AH-HAH!!! I knew there was a problem. Thanks!!!

But, if they're so great, why doesn't everyone use them? I don't understand. All they do is tunnel exhaust out of the engine. Wouldn't the cheapest be the best? I know, I'm a newb.

This is about the cheapest site for Pacesetters, although their shipping probably puts them pretty close to summit.

I would get the ceramic coating if I were you so you can protect your investment, and sell them to someone else who wants them if you ever go to a different setup.

But wait; it doesn't look like Summit includes a Y pipe for that price. So, I guess my link would be a good buy, right?

The ebay link you posted definitely AREN'T the headers for the LT1. Those look like LS1 headers.

Great! I'll spend the extra $130 for some ceramic coated headers from redline while you can get the painted headers from new era. Also, you forgot Summits handling charge.

Not sure on shipping, but Texas Speed (texas-speed.com) sells coated Pacesetters for $374 for LS1's. I'm pretty sure the price for LT1's are the same. If those headers were coated, that would be a steal, but at that price I'd rather buy from a more reputable source like Summit, Redline, Texas Speed, etc.

And the moral of the story is that price shopping for Pacesetters is really boring. They're the bottom line bargain headers, making it very hard to find a good deal on them. When I get mine I'll probably go with summit just because I've had good luck with them before. Good customer service means more to me than a few dollars and cents.

The New Era's Pacesetters are ceramic coated as well. I double checked their website. Still, you can pay the $130 extra if you want, I'll be putting it toward something else. :P

Also, I noticed that New Era is a supporting vender, amazingly. They called me back the next day and left a message saying that they were everything I was looking for. They'll be getting a call tomorrow.

Keep in mind summit will match any regular priced item that another company offers. All you have to do is phone them and direct them to the 'better priced' pair of headers and they'll beat it by a dollar.

Edit: Then your also getting the great customer service from Summit and the right price you wanted too.

Really? Still, I'll support one of our venders first.

I love mine. Installation was a little harder than I had imagined but not difficult by any means. The collectors do hug the floor pan. But you do have plenty of ground clearence on a stock ride heighth car. Ceramic coated and the y-pipe cost right at $575 to get them to my door and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

You are comparing uncoated to coated, thats why summit and redline are so much more. You can get the uncoated from summit and redline for much cheaper. I like summit because everything is sitting at your door 2 days after you order it and the tax saving alone off sets the $9 dollar handling fee and they have free shipping. I also like them because they have great customer service and are good about returns even if its your fault.
