New best times but how?

Ran tonight first time since April 25th and i've improved my times drastically but i'm not sure how.

My best run in April was a 14.30 at 97.66mph
Best MPH that night was 98.25

This was with the mods in sig plus BFG DR's. However, later that night I found out my rear was smoked. I bought a new rear a couple of weekends ago and installed it along with my BMR LCA's. No other changes to the car (Went from a 3.23 gear to 3.42) than the gears and LCA's. I fully expected the 60 fts to drop but I had no idea that I would drop the ET's and pick the MPH that I did???

Fast forward to tonight. I only ran twice tho so my 60's aren't that great, still need to learn how to track drive my car with the converter. At any rate, here are the 2 timeslips tonight.

First run:

60ft - 2.049
330 - 5.734
1/8 - 8.837
1/8 - 79.04 mph
1000 - 11.478
1/4 - 13.769
1/4 - 100.21 mph

Followed up with:

60ft - 2.058
330 - 5.732
1/8 - 8.830
1/8 - 79.22 mph
1000 - 11.464
1/4 - 13.748
1/4 - 100.68

So, is this feasible with just a 3.23 to 3.42 gear? It doesn't seem to be the traction that helped. Better weather perhaps? But that much? I don't know, i'm just glad she ran that number tonight considering factory plugs and wires near 98000 miles.

I'm installing my hooker shorties, MSD wires and new plugs. Hopefully learn to drive it and see what it does then.

That is a drastic change with just those little mods. I know the LCA's will help drop your e.t. Was it a lot cooler the other night? I know that will help out a lot. Maybe someone else can find some reasons.

Since you didn't add any horsepower, the conditions must have been better in order to trap 2 mph higher than your last time out. The DRs and LCAs can help even if you don't see an improvement in the 60'. You may have been spinning after the 60' and/or spinning hard into 2nd with the street tires. The DRs will hook up much better all the way down the track. When I run on street tires and powershift 2nd real hard, the car just squats and the tires break loose pretty good. However, with the ET Streets on the car it hooks hard as hell powershifting into 2nd and the car lurches forward real hard. Given the same 60' on both my street tires and ET Streets, I would see a better ET with the ET Streets because the car will be hooking hard after the 60', going into 2nd and 3rd gear. I can cut a 2.1 60' on ET Streets and still run a 12.7-12.8 whereas a 2.1 60' on street tires will put me in the 13.0-13.1 range.

Nice numbers.

Thank you.

Any ideas what installing my Hooker shorties (jet hot) and completing the tune-up along with removing the AC unit may net me?

Heard from a little bird, that removing the ac doesnt really help a whole lot. The headers will help though, except I'd go with long tubes. I regret my shorties, should have just shelled out an extra $200 and got the LT's. Damn!

AC is being removed for cosmetics and access. Already have the shorties and with emissions i'm not thinking of LT's. Thanks tho
