Shon's best advice to every LE customer is to go with AI...

If that's what he thinks it takes then so be it, but no one is going to like that kind of answer. Also Shon, I have been reading most of what you've been saying on these boards recently and you do seem to smack talk too much. So you have a fast bolt on car, congratulations. Now instead of being brutally honest with people, why don't you change the way you handle things and possibly be honest with them, but in a nicer fashion so that people feel you are sincerely trying to help them instead of almost make fun of them. Not all of us have the experience and knowledge you have. Your job should be to distribute that knowledge to as many as possible

Oh and I have no real problem with you, just makin some neutral observations

finally people are seeing what i have been, if your not going to help the guy why bother posting...and yes i have a stock headed car that traps 114, its taken me 1.5-2 years to get it runing that well, it still won't hook though, it just takes time to get the setups dialed in.

Yes, suspension is one of the biggest factors in setting a car up to run at its best. But also, go to a track that is prepped well and run when the weather is good.
Tuning/Suspension/Track prep/Air is where the "money" is at, you dont need alot of power to go fast, just a well thought out combo.

With the 1.64 60 foot... I wouldn't call it heavy. 114mph traps is showing either it's falling on it's face in the upper rpm or the car just isnt making any power past the 60' to 330' mark. Get it on the dyno. A look at a dyno graph would help with diagnosing a low mph trap speed. What size tires are you running and what are your shift points set at?

I think it probably has way too much gear and a bad tune b/c a 396 shouldn't need a 3.90 gear no way. I am also sure that LE2 heads are kind of small for a stroker but thats JMO. I ran 117mph with a LE1 package on a 350" LT1 over 2yrs ago and 121mph with LE3 Trickflow heads. We are about to find out what a LE3 package is capable of on my 355" LT1 with some 3.73's in a 3,500lb streetcar.

I drive this car every day for about a year now and im getting a daily driver soon. i drove this car the the closest track and back (e town 70 miles away)
it feels great off the line but it seems like shes running out of steem up top and between 53-5800 rpm she has a slight hesitation and then is fine from there on up to 6300 rpm where i shift at.

pic can be seen here of the launch

Jesus.. 9.8:1 compression explains a little... damn.

PS, a stock weight z28 with full options (like mine) tips the scale at 3370 at the track (mine is 3330 with skinnies and no spare).. at the most, 3400 I'd say. Not 3700, not sure where people are getting those numbers from. No driver of course.
