New best ET & MPH for Lloyd Elliot heads/XE cammed car

Went to the track yesterday:

1.703 60ft
5.038 330'
7.804 1/8th
89.31 mph
12.261 1/4
110.24 MPH

The car runs FLP longtubes, Lloyd's heads with the big valves, and a 224/230 114+4 cam.

Also ran a 12.30 @ 110.30 and a 12.375 @ 108.X when I let the car get too hot in the staging lanes.

Previous best was 12.32@109.5

This is with a Vig 2800 and stock 3.23 gears. 3.73s are on order now and should put me into or very close to 11.90's

Very nice #'s. Is it me or does your mph seem a little low? Maybe it's just the gears. What else is done to your car besides the headers and stall?

yeah, i was wondering the same thing about the mph's. is your car really heavy, bad gearing, etcetera? i would think your car would trap around 113-115.

oh yeah, nice 60 ft.

Well like my first post says man its still on the stock 3.23s.

Is it heavy? Never weighed it but its a fully loaded Trans Am so I think yeah its on the heavy side.

Along with the 3.73s I'm installing a TA girdle with bearing studs and also going to put in a solid pinion spacer and weld the axle tubes to the housing...going to try to make the 10 bolt last.

You need to get that thing to PG and put it on the scales to see exactly how heavy that thing really is. I know that w/ all the options you have that w/ you in the car its everybit of 3700 lbs...

Yeah you need a little more 60' to get it going better. The 3.73's should really help and a lottle more converter wouldn't hurt either. I would restall that vig to 3200 and take a little weight out like stuff you don't need. You could get into the 11's with your current power level just need some tweaking. Later Clint

What kinda of wheels and tires are you running at the track. With stock ZR1's and BF Goodrich Comp TA's I ran a 12.40@110. Car has no weight reduction at all and stock 3.23 gears also. Good numbers though

26x11.5x16 ET streets.

I'd have another 1-1.5mph if the ET streets weren't so tall in comparison to the 275/40-17s.

More stall and gears and that car will have no problems seeing 11's IMO. Go w/ the 3500 since you don't drive it everyday anymore.

Nice numbers chris! I'm hoping to run 12.20s at around 111 mph. Only time will tell.

Would you expect 113-115mph out of the 224/230 cam? I thought those mph's were more common with the 230/236 cam. ?
