Is AFR coming out with a new casting for the LT-1's?

Re: New AFR LT-1 castings?

They already have a nice selection of heads: 190, 195, 210, 215RR (Thanks Jimbo ), 220, 227s...

What are you looking for?

I had just heard that they were going to redesign the casting.

Re: New AFR LT-1 castings?

I thought AFR recently did away with the 190cc head for the LT1 and came out with a 180cc head to replace it.
Supposedly, this gives more low-end torque (more velocity) without a high-end penalty.

They currently have available 180,195,210,220,227 & 215's . All but the 180's use the LT4 intake. They stopped making the 190's awhile ago.

Re: New AFR LT-1 castings?

AFR does general updates to the heads on a semi regular basis ... a complete redesign is rumored to be in the works for the entire SBC line.

For the time being there is no release date or additional information. Hoping for the end of the year but there's A LOT of work in designing a new casting, new ports, tooling and getting them off the ground.

At least that's what we're being told. =)

Yeah that would be the first place to start.... might take about 10lbs out of the heads.

Don't hate on a good product. Who cares about 10 lbs. when you have a more rigid casting. Stick to what you know

Considering that I have 4 sets of AFR's in the shop and comparing them to about any other SBC head they might have a thick deck to them but the things are bricks.
