Angry New '93 ECM, still not running right

1993 LT1 M6 -- I was driving around town the other day when my car sputtered for a second then died. The Ignition Control Module (ICM) tested bad at O'Reilly's and I purchased a new one (part# BWD CBE30). The car starts and runs now, but occasionally under acceleration, it misses and stumbles a few times. It doesn't happen every time, but it does seem to only do it under light acceleration in lower gears. When the ICM went out, could it have caused something else to go bad or vice versa? Since the new ICM, my car idles high too....rarely under 1500 RPM and only when completely stopped. I was going to just try the idle reset procedure for that part of my problem, but could they somehow be related?

I checked all of the blade type fuses and disconnected the battery for several seconds as well. I didn't have the occasional miss or the high RPM before the ICM went out. Any advice?

It certainly would be hard to predict if the ICM were going bad if it caused any plugs to misfire and may have caused any of them to be fouled. At the very least you should look at them and the wires to be sure they are in top condition. If any of them are fouled, it would cause your stumbling.

As far as the over reving, you really need real time data to see what is requested and what is being returned to the PCM. Could be you knocked a vac line off while you were changing out the ICM.
