I'll try to keep it short. It drove perfect for the first 70 mile's or so I let it sit for a few hours and ever since it has ran like crap. It doesn't matter if it is hot or cold either, its totally hit or miss.

Symtoms- When it starts to act up it will have an erradic idle, surge and backfire, keeps stalling out. The last time it died I had to push it home, it would not fire at all. after sitting for about 10-15 min. I went back out and it fired right up. The idle seemed more steady but ever so slowly went from about a 900-1000 rpm idle to a 1400-1500 rpm idle. Any Idea's???

 

fuel pump, opti, alternator, battery (possibly, never know), o2 sensor (unlikely since it wont start at times)

 

Invest in a scan tool...it will save you alot of time.

 

noticed that I am leaking coolant between the waterpump and the block. I took it and the opti off, and the inside of the opti had moisture in it.

 

That can do it. I would also scan the car to see if all sensors are reacting normally (MAP,MAF,IAC,TPS,etc.)
