New 383 Motor.. Opinions

Hey everyone, now first off I do have a heavy chevy -- 94 Caprice.
But I like using this forum as well, and thought I might seek some opinions

I am going with my stock block (well.. most of this work is done)
Its 2bolt main, but i got 4 bolt main splayed billet caps..
Bored .030
383 Crank Eagle 4340 Lightweight
4340 Scat H-Beam rods
SRP Forged pistons, -6cc dish (I believe.. in the end with gasket height, 0 deck, 58cc alum heads, etc I should be low 10's:1 compression)
For now, stock LT1 Alum heads with a "backyard port" by a guy who I believe to be very good. Compared to my buddys Fast Timesmotorsports 1200$ heads, mine will flow a little better(I dont have exact numbers but say 260 range to be safe)
2.02/1.60 valves

Cam: pretty much decided on the GMPP847 (We all wanna see it used in something, hehe, but it seems like a nice cam for a 383. The extra cubes could even make it streetable.. but the car is a weekend warrior so i dont care)
Valvetrain: hardened pushrods, comp-r lifters, 1.6 RRs(yet to be bought), crane 10308-1 springs
Tranny: THM-400 built w/ 35-4000 stall (havnt decided exactly, what do you think??)

3.73 gears in the rear end
Afterburner (FlowTech) Longtube coated headers
Cut-outs(manual, of course heh)
and then 2-1/2" exhaust all the way back

I might be forgetting a few things, but that is the gist of it...

Any suggesstions from some of you who know a lot more than me, before I screw up too much

Thanks guys
Eric

You'll need more than 3.73's with a Turbo 400 and that heavy car.
Try 4.30's or 4.56's to get that heavy weight off the line.

I'd say go with a custom cam. There are plenty of people that say that cam is driveable in a 350, might be too small in a 383.

i agree but i wouldnt say too small, its just for a weekend driver you might as well go radical with it IMO
Bret@bauer-racing.com ("SStrokerAce" on here) he knows a little bit about camshafts

Also better check and make sure your heads are 58 and not 54CC's

Ahh good stuff guys All stuff I need to check. Compression calculator -- where might I find one? I think smokemup.com or something like that I have seen one, I will check....

I will contact sstrokerace about the cam... because radical = fun

my heads are 58ccs... and the 3.73s are what I had from my last setup, and the rear end will have to stay for a few weeks till I can afford more, but I was planning on 4.10, maybe 4.56s...

Or eventually just get heads ported to flow with this cam well -- that could work?
