Question Never seen this kind of lifter before.

http://www.jegs.com//cgi-bin/ncommer...10&prmenbr=361

I kind of like the idea, a big cam drinks gas and gives you nothing but top end power. Question is will these things work on a LT1, if not then why?

Re: Never seen this kind of lifter before.

The Rhodes lifter is just an anti-pump type lifter with special valving. It's a darned good lifter but it's also a flat tappet. Wouldn't want to run one of those in your LT1 block.

Besides, there are "anti-pump" type hydraulic roller lifters.... Comp R, etc..

Re: Never seen this kind of lifter before.

Don't know exactly why they are noisy other than to speculate..... probably has something to do with the tolerances used in the valving mechanism of the lifter. All anti-pump, fast-bleed, whatever the catch phrase is, are noisier than OEM type hydraulic lifters.

They work ok.... some better than others, but the noise is just part of it. Not near as noisy as a solid.
