Need Suggestions for Lt1 Street cams!

I am collecting all the parts I need to run a cam... I decided that I want something mild that will make my Daily driver run a bit quicker while not sacrificing too much driveability. I hear stories of people running bigger cams like cc306's and stuff, but im looking for something less rugged. Ive decided against the hot cam too.... the TPIS zz9 cam sounds like an okay option, and so does the cc305 cam, and possibly the cc503 cam. Ive seen one crane cam that I was interested in aswell.

Right now I have Some 1.6 RR that are self aligning and a set of Crane dual springs with matching locks, shims, and steel retainers. Im going to be getting a set of hardened comp engergy pushrods here shortly, and ill get the other stuff ill need within the next month....

I have mid length headers, some suspension, and intake right now... ill get computer tuned reguardless of what cam I get. I wont be running any type of heads yet, kuz of money, but I will sooner or later...

Anyone have any LT1 street cam suggestions?

Right now I have two open offers for a ZZ9 for 150$ and a cc305 for 140$.... both used in good condition....

i wouldn't exclude this one...

40-104227 Crane LT1 Camshaft, 210 / 224, .479 / .518 112 LSA, Mild cam with extremely strong powerband...One of our favorites! $360

or get a custom ground cam... You may want to contact someone that grinds cams... I've been talking to Bret Bauer about my cam and he has been very helpful and respondes quickly... I know there is a couple other people that grind them, but i can't remember their names...

Who will be tuning your car? We've ran some pretty big cams 24x/25x wiht a bigger LSA and gotten good power and streetability out of it.. Our stage 3 cam that we sell runs well on the street too with a decent tune. What are your emissions like also?

Of the cams listed I would go with the XFI 218/224. The ZZ9 cam actually has more seat to seat duration than the XFI cam. The XFI 218 is listed as 268 degrees on the intake and I believe the ZZ9 is listed as 282 on the intake at .006" lift.

I had the comp 502 cam (218/224) and it kicked *** for a small cam. Drove better thgan stock and ran 12.4's in a 3600 lb car.

If you want to stay with those springs, don't get the XFI cams. They need some beehives to perform well as they are very aggressive. I'd get the Crane cam.

LPE 211/219 runs hard every time i use it, i have put in probably 4 or 5 of them. Old guys daily drive it, and dont gripe usually after tuning it gets the same or even better mpg than the stocker. Its also incredibly easy to tune since it has very little overlap.

Also I dont run any roller cams that arent billet core, so the price difference to me doesnt exist.
