Need some suggestions, please help

Hi guys,

I have a 1997 Camaro SS with a 6 speed and i am trying to install 4.10 gears in it. I have a problem though, the ring is to big for the carrier. Its about an 1/8th inch to big. What is the problem? I ordered my gears for a series 3 carrier, is it possible i have a series 2 carrier and i never had 3.42 gears in this car? Thanks

That's interesting. I thought all 6-speeds came with 3.42s and series 3 carriers. Ask this question in the Texas section of LS1.com and a cool guy named Jason can help you. He did my gears.
